Our Partners
In this research, we are working with 5 demonstration sites across Nova Scotia Works to help individuals and employers gain clarity on their strengths and stressors associated with each magnetic factor and use that clarity to create more successful and sustainable employment arrangements. In this research, we’ll be testing targeted interventions to support the journey from looking for work/workers to finding matches, and from hiring to successful onboarding and thriving together in the workplace.

What our partners are saying about their Thriving Workplace training:
I appreciated that we all were so open and honest on how we felt, worries, challenges, excitements and a deeper knowledge of ourselves and the changes we would like to see implemented in the work places

A social purpose organization responding to employment and skills development needs.
Founded in Nova Scotia in 1984, Futureworx Society is a charitable organization that helps individuals facing employment barriers realize their full potential at home, work and in the community. Working closely with our clients, we uncover and address the real obstacles that affect their ability to enter and maintain employment, with strategies as varied as the people we serve. We deliver accessible and relevant tools, resources and programs that support our clients to find meaningful work that leads to better lives.
Our story began 40 years ago as a social-purpose organization (then called Cobequid Neighbourhood Work Activity Program) founded by a group of community-minded individuals driven by a passion for helping others realize their potential.
We have seen many changes over the years — new programs, new faces, many expansions, but the core of our organization’s “why”, the honour we all feel in supporting deep and meaningful changes in the journeys of the people we serve, is one thing that has never changed. Four decades later, we continue to have a great sense of pride in Futureworx, as well as our resilience, responsiveness and our efforts to push the envelope of what is possible for a community-based organization with a social purpose, passion and heart.
We embrace an entrepreneurial mindset that is unique in the employment and career services landscape. This has led to a reputation as an innovative, energetic, and collaborative organization, delivering services in every county of Nova Scotia and every Canadian province and working with partners across the country and around the globe.
